A Thought for Every Day

Now and then I feel God lay something on my heart that is worth sharing. This is one of those times. So, here we go.

Chase after God and the things of God. Cling to His promises.

Allow yourself to rest and depend on Him.

He will never let you down.

God longs to restore you to Himself, day after day. He longs to see

you have the victory that He freely offers. But only by letting go

of anxiety, worry and anger will you actually see the face of God,

who has and will always be right in front of you, guiding you on

your way. After all, God promises never to leave you or forsake

you. He is always good to His word. Do not be mistaken and

assume that God is like those who have let you down

continuously. God is God. He is completely different from anyone

and anything you have ever known. He is completely reliable and

knows exactly what you need. He always thinks of you and your

well-being first. That is why He sent His Son to die for you. That is

why He knows you will never be content, satisfied, worry-free

and anger-free without a relationship with Him.

Furthermore, He knows that you need to be in a daily relationship

with Him, not just when you think it's convenient for you. Every

time you step away from Him, God mourns for the joy, satisfaction

and peace that you gave up by allowing yourself to become lazy or

distracted by this world.

.

So remember, every day you have a choice that God gives you,

out of His love. He wants you to come freely to Him daily,

in order to be freed from the bondage of this world.

So, what will your choice be today??

A New Beginning...

So, since my last blog post, a whole bunch of something has happen since the birth of our second child, and a whole lot of neglecting my blog occurred as well. What do I say, but I'm back.

I thought I would give a brief update as to what has happened since I wrote last. So here goes the short version in one paragraph.

On September 27, 2007, we had another beautiful baby girl around 3am. We named her Hannah Evelyn and she rang in at a whopping 11lbs 5oz. No wonder I looked so big. Since then, I have watched my babies grow into beautiful little girls, enjoyed family adventures to New Hampshire, camped with Brian and the girls on the north shore of the Island, made a few visits and had a lot of visitors come stay with us. We even had a friend stay with us for a few months and had my parents stay with us for 6 weeks while Dad healed from his hip replacement surgery. I also found myself back involved in the Sunday School program at our church, alongside a friend of mine. And somehow I have even managed to find time to get back into writing children's stories and some poetry, as well as making the effort to go to a fitness program once a week. On that last note, did I mention that I managed to lose 50lbs? It feels so wonderful to have actually found some time to take care of myself here and there. Lastly, Hannah turned one in September and Abby turned 3 in November 2008. And I have recently been nurturing a long time desire to take up photography as a hobby. With all that said, it's hard to believe that over a year has passed by so quickly. Sure, there are probably some things that I have forgotten to mention, but it's best if I stop there for now.

Time is ticking away....

So, time is really ticking away very quickly. It's hard to believe that we have less than two months left before we see our new little addition to our family. We're all quite excited. It's amazing how you never quite get over the idea of a little baby growing inside of you. What's even more amazing is actually being able to see them move on a daily basis. Watching them kick, roll or push is quite an event. It doesn't matter how many times they do it, it's still so neat.

As for how I think Abby will receive a baby sister or brother, I think she will do wonderfully. She already is such a help to me. I get her to do little things around the house. She seems to just love being mommy's little helper. On top of that, she loves babies. She loves children. Having a sibling will definitely be a very positive thing for her. Of course there will be times when she will get a little jealous, but for the most part I think she will do wonderfully.

My favorite part of this pregnancy is watching how Abby reacts to my growing belly. For a while she has been recognizing that there is a baby in my belly. I love it when she points to my belly, calls out baby a few times and then comes over to kiss my belly. It is so priceless.

Long time, no post

Well, it has indeed been a long time since I've updated this blog. So much has gone on and life has been filled with business. Today I'm actually home. So, I thought I would drop off a update on what's been new with the MacDonalds. I will try to give a brief summery.

Life has been good. My pregnancy is going well, despite the heat. It's hard to believe that I only have two months left of this pregnancy. I have noticed that it is going rather fast. The baby continues to move around like crazy and out on a little show for Brian and I. Even Abby is proving more and more that she is ready for a little sibling. She loves to be mommy's little helper. Although we had to pull back in the potty training for a little while, she has been able to get right back on track with it and doing better than she ever did. Today she did very well.

Anyway, to prepare for our new addition, I stepped down from my position from the church at the end of June in order to be a stay home mommy. It's starting to sink in more and more that I am done. I think it's been really good for our family to be able to step back a little and focus and little more on our family.

So far, July has been rather busy for us. On Canada Day we had a bunch of friends over for a BBQ, games and to watch the fireworks. Some of the gang was able to enjoy our trampoline, to the great amusement of the rest of us. It's was a great time. That same weekend my brother John, his wife Leesa, my sister Beth and her husband Paul came to visit. A couple of weeks later Brian, Abby and I made our way over to Nova Scotia to visit my brother and his family. Later on that week we went camping. Unfortunately we all weren't feeling the best, but we are glad that we went regardless. The very next week we went to Cape Breton with my folks. What a great time we had enjoying the Wild Life Park, Louisbourg, whale watching, the Alexander Graham Bell Museum and a variety of other things.

In the last week we have been to the pool and beach a number of times. We have been so blessed to have relatives that have a pool and are so willing to open it up to the rest of us to enjoy. Also, we have a fantastic little beach near to us that Abby really enjoys. She just loves to play in the water, collect sand for beach pail or just run around. By the time we are ready to leave the beach she is covered in wet red sand, with a big smile on her face.

Abby continues to amaze us with her new vocabulary. Every day she comes out with a new word or two. Although, put her in a different environment with a bunch of new faces and she may decide that she would rather be a little quiet. Yesterday, on the way to a family get together, she said her cousin Eilidh's name for the first time and decided that she didn't want to stop saying it. While in the pool she would see Eilidh and pretty much yell her name out to her. She just loves her cousin so very much and gets so much enjoyment from being around them. The best part is that they love her a great deal as well.

Well, we have a variety of things to look forward to for the month of August. Most of it involves spending a lot of family time. Anyway, I'll leave that for another day of blogging. For now, enjoy the pictures below. :)
